About Vicky Vicky Young has drawn and painted horses, animals and birds since childhood. She spent four years at art school and graduated with a Diploma in Art & Design (Fine Art). Photography was her subsidiary subject. During a further year at Goldsmiths College, London, she attained a post graduate Art Teachers Certificate. Now living on a small farm in Somerset with her animals, Vicky has shown her own horses in hand and competed all over the south of England with her Hackney and Welsh Mountain pony stallions, 'Laddy' and 'Wizzard' in Private Driving Classes. Both are elderly and retired and have become the subject of quite a few paintings. Apart from Horses, her second love is cats from domestic tabbies to tigers. Wildlife, especially birds, feature in her work. Vicky's preferred medium is a mixture of watercolour and pencil, although she also works in pastel and pencil alone.
